Sinopec Research Institute of Petroleum Engineering was established in June 2009. It is the general staff department, high-tech research and development center, and domestic and foreign petroleum engineering technology support center for the development of petroleum engineering business of Sinopec Group and its subsidiary companies. The main task is to study the development strategy, planning, and deployment of petroleum engineering technology; Carry out fundamental, forward-looking, and major project research on petroleum engineering technology, develop petroleum engineering equipment, tools, instruments, software, and their application and transformation; Engaged in research on petroleum engineering technology information, archive management, and standard formulation and revision; Track the progress of foreign petroleum engineering technology, cultivate academic exchanges and senior talents; Provide engineering and technical support for major oil and gas exploration and development projects both domestically and internationally.
